About S J Carter S J (Jimmy) Carter is originally (and currently) from Buchanan, Virginia. Since his return to the area in the fall of 2005, he has discovered a real passion for photography. He owes much of his steep learning curve to his membership on DPChallenge.com, where he participates in weekly photography contests with thousands of photographers from around the world, learning from their examples, critiques, tutorials, and friendships. Jimmy is a member of Gallery By The James, DPChallenge.com, and BetterPhoto.com, has twice been the featured “Artist of the Month” at Bank of Botetourt, has completed three one-man photography exhibitions, and has had several successful shows at local arts festivals. Jimmy is also a member of Operation Photo Rescue, through which he donates his time and talents restoring damaged photos for Gulf Coast hurricane victims.
